Does the Hamas hatred of Jews hurt Obama?

In today's New York Times, an article describes the hatred Hamas has toward Jews in the Middle East. Hamas uses religion to insult, curse, and to use violence toward Israel. Noting that Rev Wright supports Hamas in his church newsletter, does this hurt Obama because Wright is his mentor.
