Was AW tozer Truly a Man of God?

I read about five chapters of " the knowlede of the holy" and I was deeply disturbed by the use of quotation from past christians to support his theories, and how he tried so merticulously to describe the righteousness of God, to the point where it became almost impossible to understand. Even then some of it was purely elementary, then it would spring into the realm of profound thinkers. Tell me please your opinion of him?
