Can anyone give me some info on Catherine De Medici?

She was Italian and married the heir to the French throne and regent to two sons. Sort of responsible for the St Bartholomew's Day Macre. around the 1570s? I've done the Wickipedia bit but need any more sources - primary if poss. I can't get onto Jstor.
